The haze has returned to Singapore. The haze in Singapore reached unhealthy levels on Thursday. The highest level of haze hit a PSI of 108.
According to the National Environment Agency (NEA), the three-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) reading touched 108 at 6 in the evening. It reached the 100-mark at 5pm during the haze in Singapore recently.

The highest three-hour PSI recorded for the haze in Singapore was a peak of 226 on 18 September in the year 1997.

Based on guidelines for haze in Singapore, a PSI reading of 0-50 indicates air quality in the good range; 51-100 moderate range; 101-200 unhealthy range; 201-300 very unhealthy; and above 300 hazardous.

When the air quality is in the unhealthy range of the haze in Singapore, NEA warns that those with underlying conditions such as chronic heart or lung ailments may experience a mild aggravation of their cardio-respiratory symptoms. Those without underlying conditions may not be spared as they may also experience eye irritation, sneezing or coughing.

NEA advises those with underlying conditions to reduce physical exertion and outdoor activities when the haze in Singapore with PSI levels hitting unhealthy ranges.
